Foothills Home
“Neutral colors throughout the interior highlight the art, and draw attention to the spectacular views of the mountains and desert wildlife.”
Overview
Pouls Hospitality Design led the interior remodel of a detached single-family home located in the High Desert gated community in Albuquerque, NM. The home was built in the early 2000s and finished with builder-grade materials. Although the owners loved the location and floorplan of their new home, the interior needed a complete overhaul. The owners desired an updated contemporary look to the space. They requested light, neutral colors throughout the interior to highlight their art, as well as to draw attention to the spectacular views of the mountains and desert wildlife surrounding their property.

Originally, the media room had builder grade finishes and a massive square cut-out above the fireplace to house an outdated TV. Lisa enclosed the hole to create a wall space for a large 70 inch flat screen TV.
Additionally, she added wide plank oak flooring, cut-to-size walnut butcher block cabinet tops, custom paint color on the walls, a nuanced mosaic glass tile encompassing the built-in fireplace, and custom surround sound system to create a contemporary media room that is warm, inviting, and engaging.
Before
Builder grade materials and outdated cherry-stained wood deliver an underwhelming space.

After
Bespoke materials and finishes from floor to ceiling create a beautiful one-of-a-kind space.
